Was I on a Track?

I woke up too late to go outside for my long run this morning (more later on why I am possessed to run this far anyway). So I grab my bag and head to the nice track at the Rec Center for my workout, and this is what I manage to do.

Usually my track workouts are boring flat lines.

I'll blame the "wildly varying" -- the difference between the peak and the lowest point is 36 seconds/mile -- on the seriously cute girl at the track today. My sweetie tagged along to work out and between stopping to chat with her on water breaks and running fast to impress her I lost any chance at a steady pace.

Stupidly Good Salads

It is high time I share two of my current favorite dishes with those of you that don't waste as much time on the web as I do. I spotted a link to this article of great post-workout meals. Of the eight recipes given only two sounded good to me. The Lemon Garbonzo Salad with Feta and the Edamame and Bean Salad with Shrimp and Fresh Salsa find their way into my refrigerator at least once a week.

Warning: if you're already hungry when you start making the salad you'll have starved to death before you finish. I'm no slouch in the kitchen, but my knife skills are not the greatest and all the chopping required takes a while. Both salads are worth the effort though.

Enjoy!
